Who I Am
Hi, I am the main writer for The Rough Rough Draft (TRRD).
I have always believed that writing is one of the best ways to connect. Not just with other people, but with myself. For me, this began as a way to organise my thoughts on difficult and scary topics. What I've found is it works as a way to put my thoughts in order, untangling things as I go. Somewhere along the way, I've decided to share them with you as well.
This website is going to be the place I do just that - write about current events and issues i feel are important, with some lighthearted subjects along the way.
I'm not going to tell you who I am, but I am in my late thirties, I'm a mother, I work, and I am in the process of writing my first book. Reading that, I can't believe I've decided to take this path. But I am so excited to begin.
Sometimes, the issues I cover may be heavy, and we may not agree on everything. I lean pretty far left and believe I have true socialist values, but I will always engage with people with respect, and I ask that you try to do the same, if you disagree. Feel free to contact me to continue the conversation. All engagement is good engagement.
I'm not a politician or a journalist. Please keep that in mind especially whilst I navigate the beginning. I care about what's happening in the world, and how it affects our lives day by day. If you're reading this, chances are you care too, and that's really what I want this space to be about.
So, thank you so much - you are valued. I hope you find something that makes you think, maybe challenges you, and hopefully keeps you coming back.
